The total amount of donations from Notre Dame to my project was 868 books and 126 coloring books. This amount of donations is amazing and I can not thank this school and its students enough.

State wrestling: Notre Dame-West Burlington/Danville wrestlers go 9-1, lead Class 2A after Day 1
MATT LEVINS mlevins@thehawkeye.com Feb 14, 2024 Updated 16 hrs ago
The Notre Dame-West Burlington/Danville boys wrestling team took care of business on the opening day of the state wrestling tournament Wednesday at Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines.
The Nikes went a combined 9-1 in their first- and second-round matches and stand alone atop the Class 2A team standings with 36.5 points.
Mount Vernon is second with 33 points while Osage is third with 27.5, Glenwood is fourth with 27 points and Creston is fifth with 26 points.
ND-WB/Danville sends six of its seven wrestlers into the quarterfinals on Thursday morning.
“We wrestled pretty good. We kept our composure and wrestled our match. We stayed solid and it paid off for them,” Nikes coach Bill Plein said. “We were a little concerned about the guys that were wrestling there for the first time in the big environment, but they all did a good job.”
Colt Boyles went 2-0 at 106 pounds. He pinned Garrett Kuch of Benton Community in 32 seconds in the first round then needed just 10 seconds longer to pin Garrett Pumphrey of Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont in his second match.
Carter Wesr pinned Kaliber Fry of PCM in 5 minutes, 2 seconds in his only match at 113.
CJ Davis pinned Andon Barrick of Iowa Falls-Alden in 3:28 in his lone match at 126.
Top seed Kaiden Dietzenbach rolled to a 16-0 technical fall over Licoln Keeler of Creston in his only match at 132.
He needed just 2:10 to terminate the match.
Kael Cook earned a 9-7 decision over Brandon Briley of Creston in the first round at 138 then was pinned in 3:27 by Blake Fox of Osage.
Dirk Boyles posted an 8-0 major decision over Hewitt Brinegar of PCM in his only match at 150.
Blake Wilson capped the day with 7-4 decision over Owen Klocke of Osage in his only match at 157.
“We talked to the kids that this is kind of like climbing stairs or a mountain,” Plein said.
“As time goes by it gets steeper and tougher.”

Elementary students in Art Club after school made these Valentine hearts with yarn and watercolors. Good job!

First Graders recited, by heart, a Mother Goose rhyme which they learned and illustrated in art class. They performed for every elementary grade and did a great job!
