National Honor Society students held a leadership day for Notre Dame’s eighth graders. Speeches, games, reflection, and prayer were all part of the annual event!

Sixth grader Mae Whipple was presented today with the 3rd place award for the Southeast Iowa District Flag Essay competition. Mae wrote an essay on the importance of our nation's flag in Mr. Brown's Language Arts class. Congratulations Mae! Thank you to the Elks Club for this great contest!


Dedicated readers Adley Diewold and Henry Whipple were the winners of Readingopoly, the reading incentive program for 3-5 grades. They each read 24 books including every genre- Realistic Fiction, Mystery, Science Fiction, Sports Fiction, Historical Fiction, Fantasy, Biography, Folk Tales, Legends, Tall Tales, Fairy Tales , and Non-fiction. They wrote a brief report on each book they read. Each received a $100 Amazon card (hopefully to buy books!)
All prizes for the Reading Incentive programs- Readingopoly (3-5) and Paws (K-2) were provided with funding from the PTO.
