Donna Rae Pence, 81, of Burlington died Saturday, June 3, 2023, at her home.

Born Sept. 21, 1941, in Burlington, she was the daughter of Alvin Matthew and Mary Virginia Stuck Rittler.

On April 15, 1961, she married Jeremiah “Jerry” LeRoy Pence in St. John’s Church in Burlington. He passed on June 15, 1988.

Donna was a homemaker for many years. She later became the office manager for Advance Chiropractic Center.

Donna enjoyed bird watching and flower gardening. She was a good seamstress and liked remodeling projects.

She enjoyed her many pets over the years and gave many stay cats a place to call home.

Most of all, Donna enjoyed her family and loved spending time with “her girls,” Jaedyn and Shae

Survivors include her son, Jeff (Michelle) Pence of Burlington; daughter, Alecia (Larry) Riley of Dardenne Prairie, Missouri; grandchildren, Jaedyn Pence and Shae Riley and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, Alvin and Mary Rittler, brother, Richard Rittler and sister, Cheryl Mary Rittler.

Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Prugh Crematory.

Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery at a later date.

Memorials have been established for Burlington Notre Dame Foundation and the Special Needs Foundation.
